ABOUT

Welcome to Change Counselling!

Our Vision:

That every client who works with me frees themselves from any self-limiting beliefs or behaviours that may be holding them back, leading to self-realization and mental wellbeing.

Our Mission:

We will work together to identify and analyse what may be holding you back. Then, integrating different psychotherapeutic approaches and including creative methods, I will gently challenge you as to how you can bring about the changes which will be necessary in order to live the life you really desire: more at peace with yourself, with others and with the world around you.

Catherine McFadden
Counsellor/
Psychotherapist

Catherine McFadden has a first class degree in counselling and psychotherapy from the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dublin. She integrates elements of different approaches according to each client’s unique needs, while based upon the cornerstone of person – centred therapy. As a former theatre practitioner, she is passionate about the therapeutic potential of theatre and all of the arts, and this forms part of her integrative approach. She attends regular supervision as part of her professional work and adheres to the code of ethics of the IACP. She has also done training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills).

Catherine’s priority is to create a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental space for each client to be able to explore their own world. She believes in each person’s innate ability to heal and to grow into the person they are meant to be. Identifying blocks and issues from the past which may be holding us back, and learning how to move beyond them, is key. Looking at the challenges of life, and how to cope with them in the here and now, is equally important. She regards the power of the therapeutic relationship as an important component in growth and healing. She is also open to exploring a spiritual perspective on life, according to the needs and wishes of her clients.
Catherine can provide therapy in both English and Spanish, having lived five years in South America.
